Playground Surface

The designated area is dug, low spots are graded level, and any holes are filled.
Compacted stone is the sub-base. Stone is poured, raked and tamped down to ensure an even, solid surface for the rubber.
Other sub-bases include asphalt or concrete, which require about two weeks for complete curing before rubber surfaces are applied.
For a 2-layer system (poured-in-place), the first layer of buffings - comprised of 100% recycled shredded rubber - is applied evenly on area.
|
Any design work is mapped out prior to the application of colored EPDM rubber. In this shot, the baselines for the baseball field design are drawn.
The cap of colored EPDM rubber is laid onto the buffings to form the final layer of the 2-layer system.
Home plate design work done before background color applied.
|
Completed project: 2-layer bonded rubber coordinates with the playground equipment and provides a beautiful, long-lasting and kid-friendly surface.
